Remodel

Location: Fort Collins CO

"We have enjoyed Cherilee’s expertise for both home and office remodel projects.  One of the things we appreciated the most was her willingness to take the time to really understand what we wanted and how each space was to be used.  Cherilee’s creativity is vibrant, her attention to detail is remarkable!  She was with us throughout the projects, making sure everything fit together perfectly.  The pieces of furniture we purchased at her studio, The Elegant Pear, are beautifully crafted, unique, as well as functional.  We look forward to Cherilee’s wonderful, professional and friendly expertise in the days ahead!"

We had the opportunity to update a beautiful traditional home for our clients with this project. As always, we come from the unique interior design perspective focused on who our clients are. In this case it was 2 of the most joy filled, life filled people we have ever had the privilege of meeting! They had retirement right around the corner and finished this portion of their life well. As they looked at spending more time in their home, and recognizing that they loved their established neighborhood, they knew that moving wasn’t on the table but that the home could use some updating.

The primary bathroom was very awkward and narrow and even had the ceiling slop at the location of the vanity and shower. We were able to bring in custom cabinetry that still gave them a separation of the toilet area without it being a completely separate room. This allowed for more space for the shower which was desperately needed. And of course, updating the tub to a beautiful stand alone, just made the whole room feel more luxurious and spacious.

The furnishings we chose for the rest of the home kept a traditional bend but leaned into their love of art and vivacious life and personality of our clients. This enabled us to use bright colors and large prints. Recovering their antique settee was as much fun for us in designing it as it was for our reupholsterer at Sparrow to do.

Just as meaningful as the finished space was the relationship built along the way—a collaboration full of trust, laughter, and the start of something lasting.
